Saffron Rice
1 generous pinch saffron
1 Tbsp water
1 1/2 cups basmati rice
3 Tbsp ghee or unsalted butter
4 bay leaves
7 bits of cinnamon bark (about 1 heaping teaspoon)
7 cloves,
Salt according to your taste
7 cardamom pods,
4 cups hot water

How to cook saffron rice?

Till now you will get to know about all the ingredients that you require and so as you have to collect them also at one place.So that your rice will get cooked in the seamless manner. And then you have to follow each and every step properly with the adequate proportion. So that your saffron rice gets perfectly cooked and you can enjoy the taste of it. Here are few of the steps that you have to consider while making the rice.

  • The first and the foremost thing that you have to do is take 1 ½ cups of basmati rice or you can also measure the quantity on the basis of number of persons who are eating rice.
  • Then you have to wash them properly with water and leave them soaked for half an hour.
  • Meanwhile you have to take a pan add 3 Tbsp. ghee or unsalted butter into it. And let it get heated on medium flame.
  • Once it’s done, then you have to add cumin, bay leaves and cloves into it. Along with this, if you want to add onion and tomatoes, then you can also add it as per your preference.
  • And stir it properly, till it changes its color to golden brown.
  • By the side you now have to rinse of the water completely from the rice.
  • And then add this rice into the pan and again you have to stir it so that the taste of ghee gets into it.
  • Then you have to add spices like turmeric, saffron and salt according to your taste into it. But remember that you have to add saffron a pinch.
  • After that you have to add water that is twice the quantity of rice. Likewise you have added the 1 ½ cups of rice, then you have to add 3 cups of water.
  • Then cover it with a lid and keep it on high flame until the water gets soaked completely.
  • Once the water gets soaked, then you have to open the lid and turn off the gas flame.
  • At last you can serve it on your plate and enjoy the taste of your favorable saffron rice.
